Randall, very well said. Unfortunately the failures of bishops at such rates and the failure of many to address it reflects not just an ACNA issue. I experienced the same in NZ. We discern the wrong people for the wrong reasons, shun and judge the courageous especially when those who do not possess the character for their role condemns those with courage…

The structure isn’t wrong the discipleship of souls, souls who become leaders and aspire to these roles is weak.

Or church globally, save Africa and a free other exceptions, is known for slumped shoulders and weak backs and little intestinal fortitude.

Cooperate sounds byte damage control is the norm.

A great call to action here. If the church heeds the call we will be better for it. Thank you for your courage and leadership, may others follow!

Fr. Graf, I haven't yet pored over this whole post completely, but I gather you have thoughts about the general structure of governance. You might enjoy reading a little-known writer here on the Stacks of Sub, Richard Reeb. Look for "Friends, Anglicans, countrymen, lend me your ears," parts I and II.

That is definitely how the Church acts!
